Years On Drag'n Thrust

Meg started playing Ultimate Frisbee in 2010 at Armstrong High School, where she was coached by several Drag’n alumni (Christie Dosch, Missy Davey, Mike Berseth), and also played several summers of Minnesota YCC in the girls’ division. She moved out east to study Linguistics, German, and Outdoor Education at Gordon College where she played and captained the D-III open team the Gordon Commissioners for two years.

A semester abroad took Meg to New Zealand, where she played for the University of Auckland. Pursuing her Master’s in Linguistics, Meg stayed in New Zealand and had the opportunity to play and spirit captain the 2018 New Zealand U-24 women’s team, Kārearea, where New Zealand swept all three divisions in spirit. She also competed at the 2018 World Ultimate Club Championships in Ohio with the NZ mixed team Marvellous DC.

Meg managed the 2019 New Zealand U-24 men’s team, Kea, while recovering from a second ACL rupture. She returned to play with local Auckland teams Blueberries (women’s) and Space Invaders (mixed), and was rostered on the New Zealand mixed team, Mānuka, set to compete at 2020 World Ultimate & Guts Championships. Meg returned to the United States with her kiwi husband Billy Armstrong in 2021, and is rejoining several high school teammates on the 2021 Drag’n Thrust roster.
